Volendam

Last night, the Netherlands lost the soccer match, which disappointed a certain percentage of the boat’s population. I got to hear some hooligans shaking things up across the canals.
Today, we decided to take a day trip to Volendam, a small town north of Amsterdam, to see some more of the country. The countryside there is filled with cows (to make their specialty cheeses), and windmills, including a few traditional ones. The town itself is very quaint (and somewhat touristy to capitalize on this fact). Kyle and I spent some time walking around the historical section and residences, and along the docks. Kyle got a smoked herring sandwich.
Not much else to say. Right now, we’re finishing up our Germany preparations. We may go out into Amsterdam later tonight.
Let’s finish with a Kyle quote!
Kyle: Would you like to cross this quaint bridge?
            Ann: …?
            Kyle: I don‘t know. I was trying to sound…cool.
